Ben is an expert in property law, practising law since 2007. He started his career as a litigator, then gained extensive experience in the corporate, commercial and property space in a mid sized NZ firm, mostly focused on unit title work. He has also spent 8 years practising law in the Cayman Islands focused on the development of hotels, residential and commercial property.
Recent Projects
- Acting for the Caribbean subsidiary of a large international publicly listed energy company on the development of a large solar farm;
- Acting for various hotel, mixed use and residential developments on commercial matters including financing, structuring, licensing, construction contracts and management contracts (US$60 million – US$300 million);
- Acting for a large landowner in the lease of their commercial and industrial property portfolio;
- Acting on various insurance structuring transactions (largest CA$600 million); and
- Advising the second largest private landholder in the Cayman Islands on various property related matters including the leasing and development of their commercial, industrial, retail and residential property holdings.
